India has witnessed a number of startups in the last few years in various sectors. While some of the new companies have been bringing new ideas to an older conceived business format, others have started afresh with a uniquely designed concept. Once such company that has been a pioneer in bringing image consulting business to India in all its uniqueness has been DreamWeavers- the Image Management Studio. Located in Mumbai DreamWeavers is the brainchild of Devanshi Gandhi, a qualified Image Consultant, trained at the Image Consulting Business Institute (ICBI), India and she also is an internationally qualified Life Coach from the Certified Coaches Alliance (CCA), Canada.

Although Devanshi is a Graduate from St. Xavier`s College, Mumbai, with a major in Political Science, she has a number of successful image consultancy projects under her belt. Devanshi was one of the chosen Image Consultants to be featured on Zoom Channel for their show called “Image Banani Hai”. She has been an alumnus of AIESEC, the biggest youth management organization in the world and MILT- one of India’s foremost communication forum. Devanshi is also a certified member and alumnus of Tiger Communicator, Mumbai, which conducts a one-of- its- kind global communication program.  All of this has led Devanshi to become a senior trainer at ICBI and an international facilitator in the U.S.A. for Image Consultants from India.

Brief Business Overview:

DreamWeavers Image management Studio (IMS) has taken a major leap forward by setting up a separate division, initially only for women, of custom made corporate wear, swim wear, body shapers, accessories, jewellery, shoes and gifting products which are specially created & designed to fit an individual lifestyle. "This collection covers collegians, professionals, entrepreneurs, CEO’s, homemakers & brides who can take advantage and get evaluated on their personal fashion preferences, professions, standard of living requirements, and individual body shape and skin color and, get recommended for the correct clothing and accessorizing styles which will be custom made for them" says Devanshi.

Devanshi, during her international travels have interacted with people from all over the world together and had a keen interest in studying international trends in fashion business & personal communication. In corporate as well as individual circles, she could interrelate and guide people of all ages and from various backgrounds.

Her venture was on request her Indian clients who wanted access the things she was training them for.

Marketing Activities and Strategies:

DreamWeavers Lifestyle Collection started their campaigns by creating awareness so that people can come and physically see their collective. “But eventually everything will be made-to-order”, says Devanshi. The plus point she points out that “I am offering a free consultation to every buyer before suggesting a purchase”. DreamWeavers will also be heading into social media in a big way. Their website will have a dedicated on-line store as well, underlines Devanshi as part of her company's marketing plans and strategies.

Challenges and Roadblocks:

Devanshi says that it is basically the attitude matters. In her own words: “to put it lightly - The Indian body! A slightly conservative mind!” A lack of experimentation to try out new trends has been the biggest challenge faced by Devanshi and her team at of DreamWeavers Image Management Studio.

As a woman entrepreneur, Devanshi has had a rather uplifting experience to share. “I am sure that I did not have to face any particular challenge both personally & professionally and I can rightfully say that I was entirely capable, given my training to understand the needs and requirements of my clients”, says the dynamic founder of DreamWeavers-Image Management Studio.

Funding and Finances:

DreamWeavers Image Management Studio has been a self funded project that is self sustaining after its initial setting up period. Devanshi hopes to sustain the growth for a long term and go public once her venture needs more capital at a later stage.

The Road Ahead:

Devanshi is planning to take their collection to all the major cities and “keep a tab on changing trends and lifestyles in each city and expand accordingly”, says Devanshi when quizzed about the future prospects of the business. About the business prospects in India which has so far been a nascent market for image consultancy business, Devanshi believes India is happening! “It’s all about empowerment so this is the time to look good and feel good about one's oneself and the society at large”, signs off the young entrepreneur.
